Nurturing Global Citizens: How Far Have We Gone?
By Vienne Lin
We thought we were BACK. But due to the new coronavirus, this Join-the-Conversation event has been postponed. We will reschedule it when things are on the right track. While waiting, here is a brief introduction of the event. We will look at the popular term “global citizen” in the context of higher education around the world and discuss with you some essential questions. For example, what makes a global citizen? How do we define global citizenship in our local institutions? Can global citizenship be developed through a significant experiential learning experience? Our three speakers from HKU, HKBU and HKUST will share their approaches and practices while engaging the participants in further discussion.
Venue: RR321, Run Run Shaw Building, Main Campus
Speakers: Ms. Jessie Chow, Mr Paul Myers, Prof. Davis Bookhart
Facilitators: Dr. Tracy Zou (HKU), Dr. Lisa Law (HKBU), Dr. Beatrice Chu (HKUST)
Organiser: Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, HKU
Co-organisers: Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning, HKBU; Center for Education Innovation, HKUST
Please stay tuned with us! Hope to see you soon!
